Iris Kay was born in 1969 in Lucerne, Switzerland. From an early age she was aware that her biggest passion in life, as the daughter of a classical singer, was for the performing arts, music in particular. In pursuit of a broader education she moved in 1987 to America to continue her studies in music, dance and acting. In New York she was able to receive a comprehensive training, studying in such schools as the LEE STRASBERG THEATER INSTITUTE, BROADWAY DANCE CENTER, H&BSTUDIO, and the NEW SCHOOL for performing classes. Among her teachers were ROBERT GANSERT at CARNEGIE HALL, EDITH PIERCE - YOUNG at JULLIARD, FRANK HATCHET and SAVION GLOVER at BROADWAY DANCE CENTER amongst others. After having lived in New York for over five years and deciding to make America her home, she discovered the place where she could indulge her love of mountains and outdoor sports, and finally settled in Colorado, becoming an American Citizen in 1999. From here she travels with her music, all around America, and also back to her roots in Switzerland and Europe. As a duo with piano player guitarist singer HUW LEWIS, heading large formations accompanied by Great Britain's CONTRABAND and as a singer in the ten piece soul and funk band the SOULFUNCTION, Iris is involved in performing a variety of musical styles and has played many prestigious venues in Europe and America, including; The PINK ELEPHANT in Zermatt, QN BAR, EVITA BAR and ALPENROCK CLUB in Zuerich, The LUCERNE CASINO, SCHWEIZERHOF, POST HOTEL and the PIT STOP CLUB in St. Moritz The MORIS PUB in Val d' Isere's premiere music venue in France, The fabulous Halloween event at VIZCAYA MANISON for 3000 people in Miami TABACCO ROAD CLUB in Miami Jazz clubs in New York such as the DUBLEX, SWEET BASIL, VILLAGE VANGUARD etc. Also this year Iris was for the second time performing at the world famous MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL, in Switzerland.

With enormous experience of entertaining ski resort crowds, Huw has played in the best resorts in the alps, St. Moritz, Zermatt, St. Anton, Chamonix, Avoriaz, 3Valees and the Espace Killy where he has been based since 1985.As a piano bar performer he has played many famous venues including the Splendid in Zurich, the Biarritz in Biarritz, the Schweizerhoff in St. Moritz, the Pink Elephant in Zermatt etc. A solo repertoire that contains a bit of everything, guitar songs including apres ski favourites, rock, country and much more, piano songs from old time and jazz standards to rock and roll, soul and blues. Huw also forms a part of duos and trios with Iris and Richie covering a wide range of musical styles and tastes, he also plays keyboards in the Iris Kay band and with Val d'Isere's Contraband. Sax player, trumpetist, flute player, singer and percusionist, Richie does it all, and he does it all well! He features in all our musical combinations, including "Huw and Richie duo" an accoustic piano/sax line up doing classic rock n roll and Rythym and blues covers in Jerry Lee Lewis style, as seen for the past several seasons in Val Claret's Poutrerie bar apres ski. Richie also turns his hand to jazz and latin music, and we can provide formations featuring jazz or latin suitable for hotel bars, cocktail receptions, etc.
